Low Back Pain

Low back pain is the most common musculoskeletal complaint worldwide. At times, it can be incredibly debilitating, leading to the avoidance of certain activities out of fear, which can worsen and prolong the course of pain. At Exactus Rehab and Performance, we evaluate various evidence-based factors that may contribute to low back pain. Our goal is to educate each patient about the ways these factors impact their pain and, ultimately, how we plan to address them, restoring confidence and function.

If you present to our clinic with low back pain, we assess:

Low Back and Pelvic Stability

  • Early, excessive and uneven low back and pelvic movement during leg motion has been observed in individuals with low back pain
  • Low back and pelvic stability exercises have demonstrated effectiveness in decreasing low back pain and improving function

Hip Mobility

  • Restricted or uneven hip mobility has been correlated with low back pain
  • Various interventions targeted at improving hip mobility have been shown to reduce pain and disability in individuals with low back pain

Hip Strength

  • Decreased strength in various hip muscles has been observed in individuals with low back pain
  • Resistance exercises focusing on strengthening these muscles have demonstrated effectiveness in reducing low back pain

In addition to investigating these three areas, we investigate additional evidence-based factors that could contribute to low back pain.
